Possible error in retro

Rate this question

Question

So, little premature as I am still awaiting letter..however, I am seeing a pending payment in the amount I was expecting in retro. The problem is it is only one months worth when I should have 2. I looked on Ebenefits to look and see what I could see ( I know, blasphemous!). I found two items. My effective date listed under disabilities (November 1, 2019) and then on my compensation summary letter it states that the "effective date of the last change to your current award was: December 1, 2019". It appears, at least SO FAR, that there is an error with my effective date and the retro payment? Or am I just completely jumping the gun here?

You don’t get paid for the month that the rating takes effect.

It sucks but otherwise they would have to calculate to the day every veterans retro pay, so at some point they made a determination to wait until the following month. We get paid one month behind, also, and I don’t think in 17 years I’ve ever gotten a partial month payment for disability. Gi bill and voc rehab, yes, but disability is calculated by the month.

Yeah it is understandable. Lol I had filed it on the 1st so I had just figured I wouldn't have to worry about that since it wasn't a "partial month" but this makes sense as well from an accounting stand point.

"effective date of the last change to your current award was: December 1, 2019"    The last change was a pay raise effective Dec 1.  This is not changing your effective date
