For almost everything you are going to want to post in VA Claims Research.

If this is your first time posting. Take a moment and read our Guidelines. It will inform you of what is and isn't acceptable and tips on getting your questions answered.

Remember, everyone who comes here is a volunteer. At one point, they went to the forums looking for information. They liked it here and decided to stay and help other veterans. They share their personal experience, providing links to the law and reference materials and support because working on your claim can be exhausting and beyond frustrating.

This thread may still provide value to you and is worth at least skimming through the responses to see if any of them answer your question. Knowledge Is Power, and there is a lot of knowledge in older threads.

So I have bad PTSD and I know its bad and pretty sure I have TBI but never tested. I was blown out of a vehicle in a training accident in 2001(actually video’d) and also mortared and rpg’d a few times during the Iraq invasion and medivac’d home for toxic therapy(brutal) due to a flesh eating parasite.  I have all sorts of muscular Skeletal injuries and had a disk removed in my neck. I served in the Marines, NG, and active duty Army unit 2014.  Since then I haven’t worked at all besides attempting to run a LLC from home to pay the bills which was unsuccessful. Even though the VA had me produce a income form straight up showing it was unsuccessful they still say I am working? Sorry no income for years clearly mean not working??? Anyhow, I put in for increases 30% ptsd seems really low. I have seen multiple shrinks too have IBS all of that stuff.  Even the VA sent me to a C&P to get checked for a bunch of stuff and they denied me and didn’t even mention me for IBS and aid I have no history of TBI(duh no one ever tested me and I am not a doctor that diagnosis myself) etc. It’s like they were purposely ignoring things they sent me to get checked for - they actually did ignore mentioning things?  Not sure what to do guys. I don’t have records from the days when I as in the Marines because well its the Marines during the invasion (the Marines sent them to the VA but they never got them)(that old story). Luckily I have the parasite treatment records when i got medivac’d home by the Army at Walter reed. They just had a better records system than the Marines during that time.  Anyhow, I am livid. Not sure what to do any thoughts appreciated. Disabilities rated below off ebenefits. You’ll see some they left with no rating not even a zero.

    Have Questions? Get Answers.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.
    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.
    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.
Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.
    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.
    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?
    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?
This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

  • Can a 100 percent Disabled Veteran Work and Earn an Income?

    employment 2.jpeg

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading
