Will malpractice suit damage benefits?

Hi all, 

I may have to hire an attorney for malpractice incurred at a VA hospital.  It is a long story but it isn't related to my current disability/benefits.   Is taking the VA to court going to put my disability benefits in jeopardy (been receiving said benefits for 10+ years)?

Short answer is no. They are two separate things and not related.
