Look at why you were denied, and refute it with your own medical evidence, either what you already have or a psych or sleep study doc. PTSD can affect/cause sleep apnea but you have to have a pretty solid connection between the two . PTSD does't affect all types of apnea. If you are looking to tie BMI to sleep apnea, what physical issues do you have that restrict movement? I got SA aggravated by my BMI due to chronic pain and nerve/neuropathy. I had to do an appeal but I did win. Basically, my painful movement restricts activity, contributing to increased BMI, along with SSRIs (that can cause weight gain) and hypothyroidism (also contributes to weight gain). Its convoluted but doable. *as an example. You could look at secondary connection for SA being aggravated by PTSD, too.

Welcome to hadit..you came to the right place.  If you want the hadit community to help you, then I recommend posting the "reasons and bases" for denial from the decision.

You are probably going to need to file a NOD, and I like to "refute" the VA reasons for denial with my nod.  But we cant refute the reasons if we dont know what they are.  Redact your name and address..
