Question

Hello my name is Gary. I was medically discharged(sc) in July 2007. I was given a 20% rating from the Army and severence pay. I was in for 3 yrs. I went to the VA and I eventually got to 100%I/U over 7 years ago. Prior to that I was at 50%. Approximately 4 yrs ago I received a letter from the PDRB identifying me as one of many Servicemembers who possibly received the wrong rating. The PDRB advised nothing would change with our VA compensation. So I authorized the board to review my case. I recently received a letter advising me I am now Medically RET. Yeah! They retroactively retired me 12 1/2 yrs ago. DFAS had the VA pay them a little over $100,000 +SBP premiums for 13 yrs and now I owe DFAS $677.00 to pay for more SBP. I DO NOT get any retirement pay. The PDRB is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. The only thing I can say is yes I'm retired from the Army and received nothing! The Army raised their rating from my original 20% to 40% retired status------a big goose egg. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. Oh and I was planning on making this my 2nd career until I was injured (LOD)
