Question

Hello to all my fellow vets!

I was curious about the process and the forms that are needed for tdiu. I was sent a request back in May, to fill out and return form 21-8940, which I did. It took 30 days for the review and then I recently got another request this month for form 21-4192.  My last employer has filled it out it has been  submitted as evidence. Va.gov website is counting down the days until its due. Its says 22 days until its due. I turned everything needed as of now, but I wanted to ask, does anyone know what happens after they receive the 21-4192 form? I wanted to add that when I did my C&P exam, the doctor was asking me a lot of questions about my employment and seemed concerned about my ability to sustain employment. She took a lot of notes and even counseled me a little. And to be clear this C&P exam was for an increase and secondary conditions(which I was approved for), then after my rating increased, the VA sent the TDIU request. I didn't even request it myself. VA sent the request. Thanks in advance for all your feedback........Semper Fi

If you have provided VA with all the information requested, and you went to the C and P exam, the only thing I would recommend is for you to get a copy of your cfile, so you know what is in it, in the likely event you have to appeal.

Of critical importance:

Did your doctor give an opinion that you are unable to maintain SGE due to SC conditions?  Have you done a voc rehab assessment?  Reason:  Your doctor may opine you cant do your current job, but your voc rehab specialist can opine you are not a good candidate for retraining to another career.

Example:  Your doc says you cant do your job because you have very bad knees and can no longer work and move boxes in a warehouse.  However, its possible you could retrain as a computer programmer or other sedentary work and you could still work.  To get tdiu you have to show you are unsuitable for any job, not just your current job.

Once you have your cfile, then you have to wait for the envelope.

Great advice Bronco. That Voc Rehab Opine is very very strong evidence for TDIU claims. I keep telling vets to get a free opinion to be evaluated by VR. If they do not accept a veteran in the program then that is a free Professional Vocational Opinion that can be used as evidence. Now if VR does accept a veteran into the program, the veteran does NOT have to actually do the program. Either way they just had a FREE professional opinion.
