    Have Questions? Get Answers.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

Higher level review letter states that VA returning 3 different mental conditions for correction of a duty to assist error in the prior decision. States Va failed to get an examination(s) and/or medical opinion(s). One of them states VA is developing exam to consolidate conflicting information. I told review I had a bad C&P, and that the person doing exam, had been reported by VSO's . I have new C&P tomorrow. Video C&P. What should I expect?

This exam should be treated as a regular PTSD C&P EXAM, the Dr should conduct the exam as a new exam, and you answer his/her questions the best you can .

if you don't know the answer to a question this examiner may ask  just simply tell him you don't know, this exam is the VA way of giving you a second chance beings your last C&P EXAM for this type claim was botched up, this examiner may not know about your last exam?

,,,so just relax and get through this exam the best way you can if you have high anxiety during this exam  just excuse your self or ask to go to the rest room, there you can splash water on your face and regroup yourself and go back to the examining room.  this Dr should know and realize your nervous and may have high anxiety.

never lie to this examiner or go into an acting mode  they can spot that in a New York Minute.

Just be your self and always be honest.

Yes Sir,

I believe you will do ok  and hopefully this examiner will conduct an exam that will be favorable to your claim  at least his /her report will be favorable.

Just be your self  if your nervous and  Maybe eye twitches /excess blinking  or you make movements of body jesters like rocking or looking over your shoulder or just staring at the floor  ect,,,ect,,,  these are natural responses  from a veteran with PTSD Especially chronic combat PTSD or MST.

Just always answer the questions truthfully and be your self

Buck is spot on. I had a bad C&P(PTSD) for an increase.  It went bad from the start when I gave her an outside Psyc DBQ and nexus.  This pissed her off and her exam reflected it.  I filed a formal complaint with the VARO.  The VARO didn't xxxx around.  I found myself doing two extra C&P's.  6 months later, 100% PTSD/TBI P&T.

I just got my whole C-file.  Surprisingly, they had other Psyc. Dr's taking the bad C&P info into consideration; even though I had overwhelming evidence.  They deemed the bad C&P exam as not making sense and that I was a reliable reporter.

Best of luck to you.  And as Buck stated, if you don't know an answer, say you don't know the answer or don't understand it.  Don't make it up or let them force you to answer.
