Special Monthly Compensation (SMC)- M Confusion

Rate this question

Question

I have a 100% rating for a single disability.

If I'm granted another 100% rating for a different, unrelated disability... I would have two 100% ratings.

Would these two 100% ratings qualify one for a SMC-M rating?

I am not so sure you would qualify for SMC -M?

I seem to remember brocovet has 2 100% ratings seperate from each other   I am not 100% sure on this but he got the SMC S House Bound.

Also same for me but I was 100% and then filed another claim separate from my 100% and was rated 70%  that was for PTSD  and they used the SMC S-House Bound for me too.

I think the rater is suppose to look at the criteria for your disabilities combined or single ratings  and rate you with the correct SMC Criteria.

if you meet the SMC -M Critera he /she should be rated accordingly.

As long as Veteran meets the SMC Criteria  he is rated on the correct criteria.

so go to the SMC chart and see if you meet the SMC -M Criteria.?  IF YOU DO THEN TO CHECK THIS CHART

 incase they low ball you.

Buck I'm curious if they gave you the SMC, or did you have to ask for it, and if they did, how did you ask? HLR, IRIS, phone call to Peggy, what? We have seen this before but I haven't noticed if anyone said how they got it going if they started the SMC process.
