VA.gov Higher Level Review status changed today from Closed to:

  1. VA made a new decision

    on October 28, 2020

     

     
  2. VA identified an error that must be corrected

    on October 28, 2020

     

 

Current status

The Veterans Benefits Administration is correcting an error

During their review, the senior reviewer identified an error that must be corrected before deciding your case. If needed, VA may contact you to ask for more evidence or to schedule a new medical exam.
 

 

what does this mean?

RetiredNavy It means you got a bump in the road. They found something in your claim that wasn't done right, like failure to assist or maybe the c&P exam was incomplete or something. It means to you that it will take a lot longer to get a new decision. It isn't necessarily bad, but there will be weeks added to your timeline.

This is a good thing! This means that most likely they are going to do another C&P exam to get another option or they will rate on what they have have on file. Typically I've seen these go in favor of the Veteran.

It happened to me, but I finally got a denial. So obviously, it depends on the facts in each individual case. But the reason for the re-do was definitely a CUE if they hadn't called it. So, in the end, it may be a good thing, or not.
