New Laws for Veterans and Servicemembers in 2021: NDAA | CCK Law (cck-law.com)

I am sure many here are aware of these changes but it pays to read over the link to see if anything here affects you.

Those three new AO presumptives are huge wins. I love the fact that this law also forced the VA to make DBQ's public again...

This says that the "military" gets a 3 percent raise, however, ours last year was 1.3%, if I recall, less than half that.  

Did I miss something here?  Im not sure why military would get 3 percent and why we would get less than half of that.

Broncovet I believe I read someplace that our 1.3 was a COLA. I believe the proposed 3% for military is at least partly based on merit also.

The active duty pay raise(s) are not what we get for either, retirement, VA disability, SSDI or SSI.  When the market does better, we used to get more when I was on active duty.  The DOD uses the Employee Cost Index for active duty raises, however, the President can reduce the amount.

Our VA disability, like Social Security, raise is based on a factor of the COLA (Cost of Living Allowance), which in itself, has some funny math.
