I'm New. Had an old account on here. But email was hacked... Salem, VA VAMC/ Danville, VA CBOB. Veteran injured in OEF in 2002. Deployed to country in 2001.

Does anyone know, if the VA gives out signing Bonuses if doctors keep veterans off of controlled medications?

I know they were for keeping wait times down, and general health. The scandal at Danville, VA CBOC the Medical Director changing 900 blood pressure readings. From Hypertension Type 2 to the reading highest at normal cut off. Bringing it down to normal but the highest number that would be classified as normal. 2019

They were getting Bonuses for that.

Getting bonuses to keep wait times down. Major scandal nationwide.

It's hard for me to believe that they don't get some type of monetary value, for keeping Veterans off of Controlled Medications. Ie. Pain Meds, Mental Health, etc...

Along with great VA medical and dental care in northern Nevada I received horrible horrific medical mistreatment at The Temple Texas VAMC in 1985 and the Austin Texas Outpatient Clinic in 2000.

After my written complaint's  and copy of VA Injury Claim sent to many U.S. Senators and congressmen and VA Secretary, the Temple Chief of Psychiatry was relocated to Arizona where he died at young age of 61 I am glad to say.  The Austin VA Doctor Vashenagan (SP??) was convicted of multiple sexual assaults against patients and his own staff in Austin, Texas District Court in 2001 or 03 but the POS Judge downgraded his felonies to misdemeanors.

I still have copies of the news article and court proceedings in his conviction and also copies of many replies from the senators and congressman, apologies from VA Secretary and Directors of Central Texas VA Health care plus directors of Waco and Reno VAROs.

This was just one of the reasons I moved from the over rated state of Texas in 2010 and missed out on the big freeze that paralyzed the state for weeks.

P&T 100% since 1998 and SMC-S since 2017.

  • How to get your questions answered...

All VA Claims questions should be posted on our forums. Read the forums without registering, to post you must register it’s free. Register for a free account.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery” instead of ‘I have a question’.
    2. Knowledgable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title. I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.
    3. Use paragraphs instead of one huge, rambling introduction or story. Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading to:

Post clear questions and then give background info on them.

    Examples:

    • A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine but claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?
    • B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • I was involved in traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial from your claim?” etc.

    Note:

Your firsts posts on the board may be delayed before they show up, as they are reviewed, this process does not take long and the review requirement will be removed usually by the 6th post, though we reserve the right to keep anyone on moderator preview.

This process allows us to remove spam and other junk posts before they hit the board. We want to keep the focus on VA Claims and this helps us do that.

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading
