I have been denied twice and both times within a year of time I filed.

I filed once in 1991 again in 2004 (denied both times).

Then again in Oct 2006 and I am trying to get it backdated to July 04 and I am still waiting.

I lost my job in July 2000. Filed for VA and SSA Disability on 1 Aug 2000.

VA Approved and paid by Sep 00

SSA Disapproved within few months

Resubmit

Disapproved within 6 months

Lawyer Route

Hearing with ALJ in March 2002, Verbal Approval in Hearing (Said he would approve)

May Letter saying This

July 2000 Paid

Sep 2006 reeval. Form filled out and reapproved without any exams or such.

Nothing like worrying about your SSA Disability for almost 2 years. Fun Fun Fun.

Filed June 1991 won claim Oct 1991. Filed for VA June 1991 and it took over 5 years to be awarded 100%.

Doing business with SS was much better than VA.

Filed in January 06 and my husband was awarded 100% in October. 10 months from start to finish. Once letter arrived, back pay for one year was received within the week.
