    Have Questions? Get Answers.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

    Note:

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the Zoom. Remember you don"t have to turn on your video, you can do audio only.

Heads up, I had a rough night and a rough morning. So I'll be looking something the cat dragged in.

We are going to schedule every Saturday at the same time until January 20, 2023, to work out the kinks in getting the group to take over.  January 14th will be the last Zoom meeting.

If we do not have it ready to keep serving veterans with claims by then, likely we will be unable to get a group together to do it.

If there are any younger veterans with IT experience that need a different time, please post a better time for you to meet with whoever we can get.  We will bring you up to date with what we have going so far.

I am 82.  We need a younger group of site managers.  Tbird is going to give us the site.  All we will have to do is pay the bills or move to a cheaper host that we can afford.  We discussed cutting some expenses to make it more affordable.

The meeting went well and I am looking forward to meeting with you all next Saturday.

Bottom line I will give the site to a group of veterans that want to keep the site online. Join the Zoom if you want to be part of that group. You can keep the current domain name or you can choose one of 4or 5 I own and I will give that to you.

I read that earlier.  At least his writing is more understandable than when I quit opening his blog.  He is definitely promoting another site.  I was surprised when He seemed to mention this site. I was curious if he would mention us or if he was more understandable than before.  Definitely more understandable but still ego driven.

The beauty of staying with the current host is nothing will change, you won’t lose any information. But someone will need to pay the bill each month.

I would keeping with the same hosting.  If all it costs is a $169 to keep the current site open where do I sign up?  If no one hear is looking to profit from this the revenue  side will not matter and that would block some avenues for attack. If what I think is going on I know how to deal with the ones who are targeting the Vet sites.  From my time as a Systems Admin in education I may still have a contact or two that can look into it.

I have contacted a security analysist who was the vice president of a security company before starting his own software company that has gone multinational and done very well. He is now retired on an estate in Rolling Hills, CA near his company headquarters and still helps with recruiting.  I think it would be a good match for his company as a HR source if the site also listed job opportunities for veterans.

Also, have some God children that are into coding.  Worked for MS and Apple.  Now both are in Seattle working for other companies.  Do not know exactly what type of work.  Derek was proofing programs in the early 1980s for Apple as a high schooler.

I cannot comment on or if this site would need coding.  My training was as a Microsoft Certified Systems Eng.  (MCSE) With other training as a Systems Admin and Network Teck.  Most sites like this is based on some kind of pre packed software. But I could be wrong. (Just ask my wife)

Now I can say there was some hating in there an some hurt and Truth. Ijs.

Things did change.

There is no more debating law.

If you disagree with with other with power you are now ban or block. 25 years never seen this.ijs

I haven't seen the ppl of power speaking up for the site or even in the post. But they took over things

But they started  turning a veteran post into  jokes when veterans were posting for help.

I never understood why this all started over imo doctor's to keep it real.

But there was no more debating  it was canceled kick off or get rid of everyone who didn't fall in line. That was never hadit.

I had dispute with Carlie Berta and other. About different info. During my cue.

Because some though I was crazy but I won 8 years retro tdiu.

An the debating help me understand the in and outs.

Now it a different thing if you don't agree with the ppl in power. They try to ban you.

I must say there is one site that does this and the same ppl started doing it on this site.  Bashing veteran blocking them. Make there post a joke.

And they are over here doing the same thing

This is my opinion I could be wrong.

But when ppl that were here from the beginning offering there help are ban.

Because they have don't agree with ppl of power.

I think that will change things.on the site

I will get scolded for posting this lol but it my opinion.

@Mr cue

You may be right, I may have made the wrong call. It happens. It was not my decision alone I considered the advice of the moderators. I am on my way out the door I recommend that you plead your case to the new group that takes over once it's formed.

FYI: In 25 years I have banned 45 people, so it's not done as lightly or as quickly as some members might think.

Let me start by saying I am not take up or pleading for anyone.

I understand this is your baby I watch it grow.

I also watch other help it grow. An also grow with the site.

An than others were forces out by newer ppl with no good for the site.

I respect your retirement because I understand that thing have change.

But I can see were hadit is going.

But I will be here until the new regime ban me for having a opinion on how to handle things.

That maybe different from there opinion.

T bird I wish you the best you build a great site that help so many.

I don't think veterans who are struggling to get help.

Need to hear well if the police put handcuffs on you can do anything.

We the VA is the same. Follow there rules.

Is that not making a veteran feel like there a joke.

An they never posted again.

I think that kills the site more than anything because the veteran never even respond back.

It just wasn't like that before but I understand things change.

Yes this site has been a wealth of knowledge to me. An others.

Myself before I came to the site  I didn't understand anything about VA stuff.

Old name was yulooking and you let me vent than an I thank you.

Just like you let me vent now lol

I was rated 10% under a gunshot rating code I don't have a gunshot lol keep getting denied increase couldn't understand.

Berta and Carlie show me what a cue was.

Other were posting about rating codes

And things turn for the best after a little homework.

I didn't understand smc I will say the hater help me understand that by his post.

I watch the hater lol become a agent while on the site helping others.

I am really just give my hadit experience and what it did for me and others.

This was really a family back than.

Don't get me wrong it still a family just a lot of changes in the family.
