    Have Questions? Get Answers.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading

For information: This is service connected and we can prove it, we need to get it written down the right way and yes we are filing a claim. And yes we do have documentation from DR.'s

Mrs. M. please slow down. I understand your situation. However, Rick only provided sound advice and opinions based upon the law and regulations. The best of which was get a doctor involved and file your claim then continue to post on Hadit and listen to those guys and gals such as Rick, Vike, Berta, Tbird and others. They have been where we want to go and that is presenting a well grounded claim, fully supported by medical evidence which resulted in a winning claim. It won't be easy but rest assured that if the medical evidence supports service connection for his disabilities then it will happen. Just keep in mind that there will be many hills to climb and a multitude of blind spots in the road --- thats where the good folks on Hadit come in ;)

Without knowing what you are talking about I cannot adaquately respond.

I will say this however, I am not here to kiss your butt, or sugar coat the facts. I tell it like I see it. If anyone does not like what I have to say they do not have to folow or even respond to my advice. If I happen to pass on some bad information I am not above acknowledging it, and correcting it. Sorry you think I am negative, again I tell it like I see it, not how you want me to see it.(If I saw it the way you see it that would not help you at all.) Now have a good day.

Sometimes pointing out how to deal with the VA looks negative but it is necessary to inform on how a claim needs to work. I know also that the longer it takes the easier it is to be a little cranky.

What we don't want is for people on Hadit to get cranky with each other. So if someone annoys you please ignore them.

JohnM, and JohnM's wife,

I want to apologize for my crude comment in my eairler post. I could have make my point without using the kiss comment. I am also sorry to the hadit family, sometimes I find myself correcting others for what they say, and here I go and make comment that was not called for.

Rest assured I only mean to give you and others the best advise possible, sometimes you will not agree with me and I understand that, but it is important to be as honest as possible. I truely hope you understand.

better to hear the truth about how the claim is going to be handled rather than hear only what you want to hear, if I listened to people about my claim I would not be SC for anything because the SO's all told me I would never get my PTSD claim approved hell thats the only thing I have gotten approved despite overwhelming evidence on the other issues we all have our days and then we just need to step back from the computer and come back after we have calmed down I think we have all done that thats why this is a "fambly" we are what we are disabled vets and spouses that care for us we all come here for help and support some of us are just harder headed than others and some more crude than others it you want polite go somewhere else lol
