Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

Welcome to Hadit. I am Service Connected for Panic Disorder and Major Depression 100%. If you can show a link to Service and also treatment after you left service unless it is less than a year you probably have a good claim. If you are not working you should add a request for Unemploability due to Service Connection

Good Luck

Pete made the key point for your claim-

regardless of the nexus statement the VA doctor made- as to "more than likely"

a veteran still has to prove the nexus, reason, etiology, event etc that caused the inservice depression-

if you have already provided VA with that evidence, then the C & P is good-if not it is only an opinion that would corroborate fact- the proven nexus.

I didnt see the 50% rating in this post you made and maybe you posted that elsewhere-

If this is claim for higher SC rating of what SC you already have-I dont understand that C & P at all-

If this is claim for initial SC of the disabilities you listed-

the service nexus has to be proven.

I see a very high rating based on the Scolosis and hypertensive Migraine headaches. Scoliosis is a seriously disabling condition where the vertabrates are badly out of line. The Headaches are also serioiusly disabling. I agree with Pete. You may get IU or even 100 percent schedular.

Scoliosis may be very hard to prove a service connection.

Lady:

Since you are already rated at 50% and with these symptoms and diagnosis you should get 100% fairly easily.

Good Luck on your claim.

Do you have Social Security DIsability? If you do not you should apply immediately.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I was already rated 50% Hypertention and low Back W/Scoliosis and Joint Disease. I Had Depression and Anxiety in Medical records when I left service in 2002. I thought I could deal with it and I went to work. Then a year later still seeing VA DOCS I started having bad anxiety with Depression where I did not want to leave the house. I also started noticing hair coming out in the sink I take a bunch of Meds. Metoprolol Tartrate is one I take for high Blood It made my depression worse. Now I am a mess and me trying to work is very difficult. Right now I don't think I can handle doing Vocational Rehab now.

Thank
