( Memphis is in Shelby County and Tipton county is just north of Memphis). If you live in Tipton County and you are a Purple Heart recipient, you are eligible for free car tags. You can only get two tags. It is a shame that Shelby county doesn't do the same! I live in Tipton County and I just got mine a few days ago. Shelby County should be included for the free car tags. They are a part of Tennessee. You always see Shelby County and apart from them there is West Tennessee. I thought we were all West Tennessee. We live in Chester County and get two PH tags with a permanet sticker on the tag. The only way we knew was after we paid one year for one tag, the State of Tennessee sent us a refund.
