  1. I've had a c&p exam.left eye 20/400 (20/100) corrected with traumatic glaucoma and recurrent irritis service connected, va awarded 10%. visual field same eye 15 degrees vertical and 30 degrees horizontal remaining field, decision deferred rating board says exam. inconclusive need to schedule c&p. Right eye 20/200 (20/100) corrected rating deferred to determine service connection. left eye had irridectomy surgery and many episodes of laser surgery for glaucoma and irritis first diagnosed in service, surgery soon followed after diagnosis. Right eye also had some laser surgery during the same time. The award of 10% was Dec.2005 the other deferred issues remain pending to date.
  2. veterans affairs define blindness to be 5/200, ssa, dmv and federal law for legal blindess is 20/200 someone please help me understand how this huge injustice is allowed to happen.
  3. Hello,I'm new to this site and I wish to draw on all the intellect and experience from the members.my question is can a claim be filed for smc due to impaired vision rather than total blindness.the reasons I ask are when the impairment make it difficult to drive in the daytime and no capability to drive at night, is that considered a loss of use for paired organs.the veteran my wife has this disability, 20/100 in left eye with traumatic glaucoma service connected and 20/100 in right eye deferred for further developement both are corrected vision.I also probably need to add that she is 70% 100% unemployable p&t for major depressive disorder.
