I served in the Marine Corps from 1986 to 2007. I was placed on medical hold in 2006 due to back injury hence the extra year of service. I filed for VA disability in 2006 before retirement but I was also placed on TDRL.
Guess I got a medical retirement. I was rated 40% originally by the VA but was upgraded to 50% in 2009. I was under the impression that I would be collecting CRDP. Currently, my retirement pay is being offset dollar for dollar from the VA. I will soon be taken off of TDRL and placed on the PDRL. Is there a reason why I dont see CRDP being paid? I thought the VA contacted DFAS with the new disability rating so that I wont have to do anything.
I am guessing that VA didnt contact DFAS or DFAS didnt act on the new info when received. I was rated 50% from the VA in May 2009. Just looking for a answer to why I might not be getting paid CRDP and what I need to do to fix the problem if there is indeed a problem.
