  1. Are you able to collect from both the VA and TDRL at the same time? I did not think you could do that. If the army says you are 70% that means to me that for VA purpose you are or should be 100%.

Yeah, I talked to my county vet rep and he is handling things from here on out. I draw a check from the army that is taxable, and one from the VA that isn't. For some reason the VA only saw fit to put me at 50%...I was told by a counselor to seek a claim for PTSD also. It doesn't make sense to me that you could have things like PTSD and Bipolar occurring at the same time; and only be compensated for one because of some weird egyptian issue. Perhaps someone needs to tell the press to investigate these sorts of things, they're always itching to give the gov't a black eye...here's their chance.

  2. Hello out there,

As the name of this website implies; we're all pretty sick and tired of the paperwork and nonsense. I for one wish that the process was a lot more streamlined than it is right now. I am 70% service connected from the army for bipolar disorder, and 50% from the VA for the same condition. So the army doesn't know what they're talking about? I'm still on the TDRL, and missed an appointment in JAN 2010 for a reevaluation. I have since been diagnosed with PTSD, and have been urged to file a claim for compensation. Has anyone else ever encountered this situation? Should I get off of the TDRL first? Should I go ahead and file a claim with the VA? How will this affect my benefits? Does anyone care that I'm just asking questions? Who knows the email address for the New York Times? What's the best way to drop a dime on inefficiency? Best of luck to you all.
