Thanks everyone for the WARM WELCOMES! I truely appreciate all of them! I've been to the Gulf War forum, and have included the all the recommended information from that site and others in my packet. Just one question....is it really necessary for the VA to schedule me for an exam? Especially since I've been seen by the best specialists, and all of my test are current. I had an colonoscopy, ultrasounds, cat scans, and many blood test within the last two years and I have sent all of my results and doctors notes to them. I would think they had everything they need.

Hi Pete
I requested a copy of all my medical records the same day I filed, and sent that information a month or so after along with my private medical provider records, which by the way included all of the diagnostic test results and office notes. The first time I failed to send the medical information certified, but the second time I did send it certified. I can't imagine what additonal information they would need. I have had every test you can think of because I didn't know and the doc didn't know why and as long as my insurance was paying for it they didn't mine paying for the different test. I got a lot of information from facebook(Jim Bunker & Denise Nichols) they both have a wealth of knowledge about GWI claims. So, really appreciate those two. Right now I am just waiting to hear what additional information they need.

Hi
joined site to get information on VA claim process. Served in the US Army from 1985 to 1991. Gulf War Veteran. Filed disability claim August 2010 for IBS, GERD, Diverticulosis and menustral disorder. Received letter from VA in November for additional information. Almost everything they needed had been sent a month or so after I filed. I don't understand why they would request the same information that I sent them. So, i just sent it again along with the proof that I served in SWA, which btw was on my DD form 214. I sent that to them highlighting the period I served and also sent them awards that I received for my services in the Gulf War.
I really enjoy reading the different stories, and learning so much about the process. This forum is awesome!

Thanks again for the response to my questions. All are appreciated. If and when I'm scheduled for an C&P I will be sure to bring any additional medical information. As of now, I have submitted everything.
