From what I gather, pretty much anything that you can prove that would benefit you educationally could be authorized for purchase by the VA.

For all of you that are waiting and feel that the amount of time you've spent waiting is unusual, it took 2 months short of 5 years for my claim to go through. The best advice I can give is to keep gathering evidence and submitting it through your VSO. Overwhelm the VA with evidence.

If you're not happy with your doctor, get another and continue this until you find one that takes you seriously and you can trust. Think about what you want to report to your doctor before you go to the session. This is critical.

Research your illness and make suggestions to your doctor when you feel that your medications aren't working and be ready to discuss availble treatment options that you've researched and are comfortable with.

I feel your pain about the waiting, but it's just like the military "hurry up and wait". OUr country is still at war and there are hundreds of thousands of claims being worked on.

The best thing you can do is be proactive. Never put your future in the hands of another. Your life is your responsibility.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I'm quite happy with my award but facing the dreaded proposed incompetency now. I've already shot them an NOD through my DAV NSO and had a sit down with my C&P Examiner today. He will write a report stating that I am financially competent. Hopefully that will be all it takes to make this go away, but if not, I'm ready to slap a German and American credit report on them.

I think I've read enough info on this to start a new thread about my view of proposed incompetency and why to fight it and how. I'll keep you guys updated.

Yeah my plan was to start up a blog for veterans. I've fiddled around with it off and on for the past couple of years, but have yet been able to fully commit to it.

Tbird, now that I've been awaded P&T I have nothing but time really and I can think of no better way to spend it than spending time with my family and helping deserving veterans with their claims.

You've put together a great site and as an amatuer webmaster myself, I know how difficult it is to get a forum established and its presence known. As hadit is an invaluable resource I appreciate your patience and effort.

Hello all I'm an OIF veteran living in Germany with my wife and kids and have recently been awarded 100% P&T for PTSD. This is after 5 long years of fighting and waiting. I know that many have to wait longer than this and I'm very grateful to have finally received my full award.
