I am old veteran but new to these VA games. I retired as an E-6 back in 1992 from the Air Force. I filed my claims and was rated as 0% tried for years to figure out what that meant. Came to the conclusion that unless you have surgery you get nothing. I had issues with my neck and back and arms from pulling a mule and a tractor together. Received 3 days off and motrin. When you claimed about the issues it was as if it was all in your head. 2011 what was in my head after suffering a stroke in 2010 became time to operate on my neck and back. I have sleep apnea (obstructive) and I am being told my a lawyer that because I did not appeal the denials in a year we have to re apply and go by the date that we re applied for them. Apparently that ship has sailed according to her. Now can someone tell me how to get claims that were denied back in 1992 the effective date then or is she correct? She is also telling me that things happening now to me can't be claimed? Thank you in advance for any assistance. I have read Chris Attigs books and went with his advice to get an attorney asked the questions and this attorney never answered them. It is Jan Dils out of Parkersburg, WV. I live in Virginia. I requested Chris's help over a month ago and sent them my c-flle. Have never heard from them that is why I went with Jan Dils firm. Any one know about her firm?
