Yes.  Check your records to see if your doctor posted just what you said...that SSRI's for your ptsd caused you to have tinnitus, or something close.

If his statement is not documented, ask (the doc) to document it.  (put it on record that your tinnitus is caused by meds from ptsd.)

Thanks- It is in the notes on a dozen plus visits as we discuss it each time.  I've included all of my records and took screen shots of those specific mentions to be clear.  I appreciate the feedback.

  2. I've recently been SC for PTSD at 70%.  I've been seeing a VA therapist and psychiatrist for the past 2 years and since I've been on SSRIs, I've had increasingly bad tinnitus.  According to the psychiatrist, I'm in a small group of people who experience tinnitus as a result of SSRI use.  I've been on a total of three different SSRIs and all of them cause tinnitus.  When I've ramped up in dosage, the tinnitus also goes up.  So we've tried different prescriptions at different dosage to manage my anxiety while limiting the tinnitus.  While I can notice some differences in the intensity of the tinnitus, it has been constant since I started this regimen.

So can I claim tinnitus as secondary to PTSD due to this treatment?
