Hello all,
I am new to this forum and honestly wish I would have run across it years ago. I got out of the military two years ago, and filed my claim for compensation shortly after. After a few screw ups that the VA has already taken responsibility for I was finally awarded 50% and am entitled to retro pay from my date of discharge. Now as you can imagine, every time I call the VA I never get the same person twice. I have had four people tell me four different time frames for this retro pay to be released. The award is in the computer, the amount of retro pay has been tabulated, and I have a date of July 2, 2007. How long does it take for the VA to send the check? Does it beat the award letter? Does it take 15 days, or should I just grab a chair and get ready to wait another few months? Any incites would be very appreciated. Thanks.
