Let’s say I have a claim for hypertension and it was dated August 2018, and the board granted service connection in July 2024 and the VA gives 10% rating. Would I get paid the 10% amount per month going back to Aug 2018 or will the VA need to calculate amount based on my combined rating/adjustments that have increased incrementally since Aug 2018?

My question is can the VBA grant an appeal after receiving new evidence to a SSOC without having to go back to the board of appeals?
