  1. All,

I just received my "final" determination and it states "We assigned a permanent 100% disability evaluation for your service connected disabilities effective March 1, 2009." My question is, since they used the word "permanent" does that mean I don't have to worry about them trying to call me in for follow up physicals over the next few years and trying to reduce me back down below the 100% level?

Thanks i advance for your help,

  3. Alcon,

I recently retired from Fort Campbell and I've received a 90% rating on all my other issues. The VA had deferred judgement on my PTSD and my TBI. I have since traveled to the VA hospital for 3 different appointments in which I've seen muliptle doctors and received in depth testing for the TBI. This was in July and August 2009. My question is since I'm already at 90% what is the chance of receiving 100% with these two items still remaining to be included in the total? Also, I am working as a regional safety coordinator now for a corporation....I won't be forced to quit will I? I don't want the "can't work" designation....I'm only 40...as much as I love my wife it would drive me crazy to be home for the next 30+ years. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  4. I'm a recently retired SFC with 22 years in service. I went throught the early benefits at dischare program at Fort Campbell, KY. My last day on active duty (on leave) was 1 Mar 09. As of June 09, I was awarded 90% and they had me come back for two more appointments in July and Aug 09 for my PTSD and TBI which are not included in the 90% rating. My question is what are the chances of me hitting 100% with those two things still not rated? I had plenty of records from active duty mental health professionals/counselors regarding the issues from the last 2-3 years before I retired. And also have been on meds for depression/PTSD for over 3 years prior to retirement. Also, can i still work? I don't want to have to sit at home for the next 20+ years....while i have a lot of pain from my injuries I dont want to be limited to "no meaningful income" if I have a choice in the matter. How does this work and how much longer will it take for them to make a decision?
