Welcome to Hadit. I wish this was easier I am in the same fix and trying to get my bath changed from sunken tub to a walk in.

If you just want to get it over with I would ask if you paid would VA pay you if it passes inspection or find a contractor who will do the work and wait for the 1200.

Did you know that they are close to raising the ceiling on 1200

I have asked the exact question you suggested and recieved a no.

I have a Garden tub I need to change to a walkin. I have hand rails to hold on to, but one minor slip and your down. I have been there twice!

Hi Folks, My name is Marshall. I am a Viet Nam Era vet.

I'm 62 and retired from the Fl. Dept. of Corrections.

I am disabled however with neck and back problems.

I do have a question, and perhaps someone here can give me some advice.

For the past two years I have applied for and have been approved for the $1200.

allowed to me for remodeling my bathroom as to accomadate my getting into and out of the bath tub.

Here is the catch...A contractor has to do the work. Well, in my area there is no contractor that will work for the Va. (I personally looked high and low).

The Va rep. has been seeking a contractor with no luck.

I spoke with my social worker and ...Oh-well!

Any advise would be apprciated.
