More Screening

Question

Hello Everybody

I was told my claim was sent to the rating board on March 21 and it can take some time to make a decision. They said it was screen before it went to raters to make sure all my C&P and paper work were there. I call them and the guy was not sure what to say to me. He said it was at the raters being screened and was confirmed on

May 24. Does that mean that my claim will be pulled again and a request for more C&P or whatever. I talk to VSO and he didn't help either. all he said was claim was confirmed on May 24 with Rating Specialist. I am just confused and concerned.

Thanks

Lady Chance

Not sure what the word "confirmed" means. Claims are normally sent to the predetermination team and then to the rating team (area). This simply means that someone has decided it was ready for a rater to look at and make a decision. However, in answer to your question about a C&P - yes the rater can decide that a new exam or additional exams are needed in order to be rated. The rating process, once sent to the rating team, can take weeks to months just depending on the backlog at your RO.

Find a hobby you like and try to forget about the claim until you get a rating decision. If not you will more than likely go crazy trying to second guess a system that is inconsistent in all actions conducted by them.
