Am I Missing Out With Non Va Exams For C And P?

Rate this question

Question

my c and p was done all the times by a local doctor..internal medicine, thru qtc. Most of you seem to be going to your VA district medical center and having a va doc do it.

Should I be requesting to have a va doc do it? Because as noted the doc i go to here locally just goes quickly thru a checklist for ROM and obvious stuff...in the joints never asking or checking for weakness or ease of fatigue and so on.....is a va more thorough and/or better? thanks..t

tec,

My C & P was also done through a local doc. He did a pretty good job all in all. Took lots of x-rays and did blood work, EKG, etc. My only problem was that I declined a portion of the exam (had just had it done in service) and he told VA I'd declined more. That hurt my claim at the time and I wasn't informed enough at the time to realize it.

Anyway my point is, it seems like there's probably good and bad docs in whatever arena you go to. If I were you I'd print out the checklists and take them to my regular doctor.
