ReconRon
Can anybody tell me how the VA considers giving you a rating upon your PTSD claim. And how they attach a percentage for that you have for PTSD ? It is based upon your GAF score or from you inability to work or both. Any information will be helpful to how they come up with your rating percentage an for what percent? ? ? ? ? ? Thank you

Any information will be helpful to how they come up with your rating percentage an for what percent? ? ? ? ? ? Thank you The GAF is only a part of the rating decision. They look at that plus treatment records, medication therapy, ability to work etc. They are "supposed" to look at all these things, but ofter key in on a certain item and use it to deny if possible. But, if they have to award than they use it to lowball you. I know it is confusing but bottom line they are supposed to consider everything, but as I said they usually try to find the weak link and run with it. Case in point the recent class action law suit won by Iraq war vets who were either lowballed or denied. Hope this helps, Bergie As a combat veteran, or any veteran for that matter!!! If you thought the fighting was over when you came home, got out, or when the politicians said it was over. Welcome to the real fight, welcome to VA claims!!!
