I receive the pension for diabetes, neuropathy and shoulder injury. They deemed me unable to obtain gainful employment. I have now filed for service related diability compensation for the shoulder injury. Since I was already deemed unable to work, will they automatically review for IU during this process

No, I have helped several veterans with this same situation. They will re-evaluate the entire claim. A VA employee who used to post on this site said that the VA can award a Non service connected pension without fully weighing the evidence.

I helped two veterans who were given a non service connected pension for the identical condition they were later SC'd for and when they got Sc'd they dropped the rating to 50%. On appeal they got their IU back.

Woops, I misunderstood the question.

Will they automatically evaluate for IU for the shoulder. They usually do not automatically evaluate for IU unless the service connected disability has a high rating or you specifically ask for IU. Somebody might know how high the rating needs to be on a shoulder to kick in the automatic IU evaluation. I can't remember of the top of my head and the BVA search site is down.
