New Ptsd Claim I Never Applied For

Question

I recieved in the mail today paperwork for a PTSD claim that I never applied for. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and fillout the papers? I have claims in for depression and schizophrernia.

Could they have taken what I have stated about my schizophrenia as me having PTSD?

If I dont apply for the PTSD now will that hurt my claims for it in the future if I'm found to have it later on?

Thanks for any and all help.

Did you file through a service officer. If so, the claim could have been filed for any acquired mental condition. Also, if they reviewed your medical records and there was any notation of PTSD they would investigate PTSD.

You should always respond to any questions the VA asks you. Even if it means telling them you are confused by the questioneer. Get help from your SO filing out the form.
