GlobalHawk's Achievements

  1. Is a C&P exam mandatory? My psychiatrist diagnosed me with PTSD, GAF score 45 and put me on meds. I visited my psychologist today for about an hour. She also agree I have PTSD, but she produced no notes for me to retrieve. With two different docs saying the same thing, is a C&P exam needed? Would they be the very ones doing the C&P exam on me anyways?
  2. @ John does it have to be a C&P examiner DX of PTSD? @ carlie I was discharged on July 15 2010 and no one told me about the BDD program.
  3. I just sent off my stressor before the VRO requested it, was that smart to do? With the stressor letter I sent the following VA Form 21-0781, VA psychiatrist diagnosis, progress note, list of medications, Form DD-214 that list my Iraqi Campaign decoration, EPR that states I was in Iraq and my role and a nexus letter stating the combat related criteria fo PTSD. Is ther anything else Im missing?
  4. My DD-214 only has the Iraqi Campaign Ribbon with service star and the amount of time I spent there. It doesn't express what I did while down range. Is ther specific format for these stressor letters?
  5. Are combat troops the only ones able to claim combat related stressors? Our base was constantly under attack with rocket and mortar, does that count as terrorist attack? I was armed with body armor and several weapons for my protection and others. The VA doc already diagnosed me with PTSD and I can only trace back to my deployment to Iraq for any traumatic events. I was a volunteer who wanted to serve, so I had to train for a different MOS thats on my DD-214. I need advice.
  6. My discharge is General under Honorable. I have all veteran benefits excluding GI Bill. My knee was injured in basic and reinjured in Iraq. I had got xrays on while in Iraq but I dont know if the filed them.
  7. This peice of evidence I received from the VA psychiatrist records. Would I need to mail this to my Regional Office? Or would find it them selves? While in the service I had no idea what PTSD was so I have no record of me me having this prior to my VA visit. Im on meds right now for depression and lack of sleep. Would that help me with my claim? What are the usual things the rater or whoever looks for?
  8. Hello everyone, I new here and I wanted to wait for my first meeting with my psychiatrist before I post. I just got back and I have the records with her notes on it. I am no expert with this so I need some help with this. I'm an OEF/OIF veteran who recently got out the Air Force due to general discharge. On the DD214 is says Misconduct; Minor Infractures. I first when to the VA for poor sleep and nightmares. My AFSC is Satellite Communication but I volunteered to go to Iraq as security forces gaurding Third Country Nationals (TCN)s. As a satellite communication technician we provide the drone pilot communication links to the aircaft to run daily mission and both theatres of war. Both experiences were highly stressful and demanding. Im interested in finding out if I would get any compensation for my symptoms. Im also unemployed and experiencing finacial hardships. Assessment: Axis I : PTSD, THC/Alcohol abuse Axis II : no dx Axis III : knee injury Axis IV : Limited socoal support, unemployment, interpersonal Axis V : 45 The regional office had mailed me a letter stating that they had received my claim, what is the next step?
