  1. Personally, I would try for an original date of the day after discharge, since your SSDI claim was within the one yr of discharge and SSDI(the Gov't) knew of the claim and the VA is also part of the Gov't. You'll probably need a good attorney but the retro would make it well worth it for both you and the attorney. It's not guaranteed but you've got way better odds than winning the lottery and if you don't try you'll get "zip." jmo

Oh wow retroactive pay for 100% back from 2003?! OMG!!!

  2. Thanks, Berta! I know I should have been given TDIU... I have hired a Disability Attorney this weekend to represent BOTH my APPEAL and my NEW CLAIM for SOLEY SCHIZOPHRENIA. I have been on SSDI since 2005 for Schizophrenia... I know my new attorney will file for TDIU, but i had no idea it could be awarded retroactive to the date of SSDI. Thanks for the information, Berta!

  3. Finally know why i was "low-balled". My initial claim i tried to claim BOTH Schizophrenia AND Depression. You kow how the everything on paper has to be so detailed... So that's why I was rated at only 10% for a "Psychotic Disorder NOT OTHERWISE SPECIFIED (NOS). So what i did 2 days ago was used VONAPP to claim JUST Schizophrenia and I am hoping for at least 70% this time...

    Thanks Fellow Vets!
