Chuck, thanks for your answer. Reading my decision letter the following reasons were given for the 30% rating for IHD:
An evaluation of 30 percent has been assigned based on findings of enlarged left ventricle post coronary artery bypass surgery. An evaluation of 30% is assigned if there is work load greater than 5 mets but not greater than 7 METS result in dyspnea, fatigue angina, dzziness, or syncope.
Records show you are status post coronary artery bypass graft surgery from 1999. A nuclear treadmill test from March 2010, provided an ejection fraction of 56% and noted an enlarged left ventricle. There was also a small inferobasilar infarct with minor peri-infarct ischemia. The VA examiner diagnosed arteriosclerotic heart disease. Echocardiogram was done June 29, 2011, noted your left ventricular cavity size was mildly increased. Ejection fraction was estimated to be 55% to 60%.
I think the fact I’ve already had quadruple bypass surgery, I don’t smoke, I’m not over weight and exercise regularly, my heart is relatively healthy? What’s ironic I think is the very doctor who I originally saw for my IHD C&P exam and the VA used to partly base their 30% decision on, is the same doctor who now says my IHD prevents me from working.
