  1. Chuck, thanks for your answer. Reading my decision letter the following reasons were given for the 30% rating for IHD: An evaluation of 30 percent has been assigned based on findings of enlarged left ventricle post coronary artery bypass surgery. An evaluation of 30% is assigned if there is work load greater than 5 mets but not greater than 7 METS result in dyspnea, fatigue angina, dzziness, or syncope. Records show you are status post coronary artery bypass graft surgery from 1999. A nuclear treadmill test from March 2010, provided an ejection fraction of 56% and noted an enlarged left ventricle. There was also a small inferobasilar infarct with minor peri-infarct ischemia. The VA examiner diagnosed arteriosclerotic heart disease. Echocardiogram was done June 29, 2011, noted your left ventricular cavity size was mildly increased. Ejection fraction was estimated to be 55% to 60%. I think the fact I’ve already had quadruple bypass surgery, I don’t smoke, I’m not over weight and exercise regularly, my heart is relatively healthy? What’s ironic I think is the very doctor who I originally saw for my IHD C&P exam and the VA used to partly base their 30% decision on, is the same doctor who now says my IHD prevents me from working. Tom
  2. I'm currently rated 50% PTSD, 30% IHD and 20% Diabetes Mellitus - overall 70%. I've been unemployed for several years and I filed for IU in February 2012. I was scheduled for two rating C&P exams in March 2012 for the diabetes and IHD both done by the same VA doctor. I recently obtained a copy of his reports which are labeled "Disability Benefits Questionnaire" As to the diabetes question #6 asks: 6. Functional Impact Does the veterans DM and complications of DM if present impact his or her ability to work? Dr.'s Answer: Yes Describe Impact: Recurrent hypoglycemia with insulin therapy As to the IHD the questionnaire asks: 6. Functional Impact Does the veterans ischemic heart disease impact his or her ability to work? Dr.'s Answer: Yes Describe Impact: Dyspnea, angina, stress and unable to pass annual physical While I didn't have a second exam for my PTSD, the VA sent a letter to the original Psychologist asking him if my PTSD had any impact on my ability to work and he responded "No." I have no further exams scheduled. So I have two or more SC disabilities that total 70%, two disabilities that the C&P doctor says have a functional impact on my ability to work. Is there anything else the VA would consider that could possibly deny me IU? Thanks Tom
