I don't have a copy of my c-file, I do have copies of all my rating awards and a lot of other va correspondence. There no point in asking for a copy of my C-file now as the VA has destroyed all my paper records and deleted all files pertaining to effective dates and dates of being paid at 100% rate.All that is on the disc is 2007 as effective dates for my disabilities.

I worry about how hard it will be for my wife to get DIC should I pass before her. I worry that Champva will check with Regional office someday and see no record of eligibility. I worry I go to renew my DAV plates and get charged with fraud when there is no record of P&T. All the disc shows now is 2007 effect dates for PTSD, IU, shrapnel wounds. Nothing else.

Update: VA finally scanned records onto disc. They entered effective dates on ratings all 2007. besides what records they had destroyed earlier, there were a computer files on their website my SO had showed me that had my rating of 70% PTSD effective date of 93 which was correct and my being paid at 100% rate since 97 which should have been 95. The VA deleted these files, so now the only records that are shown are the scanned effective dates of 2007 on Ptsd and IU. With no P&T shown. The DAV NSO I talked to said he had never seen anything like this and he is at a loss to advise me what to do. He said after this he doesn't know what the VA would try to pull if we tried to correct dates. Again I have copies of all my ratings and my wife has champva card. Any advice will be appreciated.

Although I know ebenefits isn't always correct. They show all my disabilities effective dates 2007.Should be PTSD 1993 IU 1995 P&T 1996 Shrapnel wounds 1990. Ebennys also shows authorization review completed april 2015.

I had decided to contact the St Louis RO and try to get my records corrected. Then a friend of mine had this happen. Has had 4 back surgurys from injury in Vietnam last one 3 months ago thru the VA has rods and screws in back rated 40%, 20% type ll Diabetes 10% hearing 50% PTSD as of 4 months ago.Filed for IU 3 months ago. Now The VA wants him to go to a VA surgeon and have an xray to prove he has rods and screws in his back, even though they paid for the surgery fee based and have xrays already. And they want him to see a VA shrink and tell him why he is unemployable. I'm afraid to do anything about my records, no telling what they might pull on me at St Louis RO.

Talked to NSO again yesterday, he said they haven't finished scanning records. He said because it shows my IU and Ptsd ratings effective dates 2007 that the VA might claim agap in my ratings as if they took it away and started it again in 2007. Again he said a risk of being called in for C&P. He did say he would pursue it if I insisted. I said I would wait a month until the VA has finished scanning records and see then what they have down.

It is the St Louis Mo RO. I had gotten a booklet from the VA in 2012 showing all disabilities with all the wrong dates and no P&T rating, I called the number in the booklet and was told that was the info they received from my RO. I took copies of my Ratings to my DAV SO he looked on computer and said it shows records destroyed and wrong dates on ratings. He advised me to wait until Jan of this yr when I had 20yrs on my IU rating to correct this so I wouldn't be called in for a C&P. Now he doesn't want to do anything about changing it saying it might cause me to be called for C&P and reduced. It worries me and I told them if I pass away my wife will have a hard time getting DIC even though I have copies of everything.

I have copies of my rating awards, I need to get the effective dates corrected. My VARO in ST LOUIS is 12 yrs off on my IU and 14 yrs off on my rating for PTSD. I actually reached 20 yrs on my rating of IU on Jan 25, My VARO has my effective date as 2007. How Do I get The Dates Corrected?

Can anyone tell me exactly how to go about getting my records corrected?

I have all my orginal award letters and most correspondence from the VA. I having trouble getting the dav to do anything about it. They told me I might lose my IU if I pursue it. I called the NSO at st Louis he said to wait until the finished scanning the records onto disc about a month so he could see all the info in the file.

This is not an appeal, this is a case where I found out about a yr ago that my paper records had been destroyed and I'm assuming my records had been reconstructed by the VA with wrong dates. I'm simply trying to get my records corrected because I reached 20 yrs on my rating of IU on Jan 25 2015. The VA has me being awarded IU in 2007 instead of 1995. This also puts me under the 10 date of rating so my wife can't get DIC if I die in the near future. I have copies of all my ratings and other paperwork. My wifes champva card has an effective date of 1996. The VA also has me being paid at the 100% rate since 1998 instead of 1995. The SO told me I needed copies of my Bank statements back to 95 showing me being paid at the 100% rate. My bank only keeps records for the last 7 yrs.

I talked to a country VA rep on phone without giving my name, I have figured out that my paper records were among the 1800 records destroyed by temp clerks and I believe the VA reconstructed my records and put whatever data in they felt like. I have already tried my bank, they don't keep records that far back. I have the disabled vet insurance with no premiums. what should I do next?

No, they haven't told me the cards are not evidence. The DAV SO did say there was a gap in payments on his screen. And the 2007 date the va has showed General Individual Unimployabilty rather than individual Unimployabitly on following datesl Does anyone know where you contact to get a payment history? Seems like the checks come from Texas.

I do have copies of my tdiu rating. my issue is that instead of having my effective at jan 25 1995 which would give me 20yrs on my rating as of last sunday, they have my effective date at 2007. Suppose I die soon, my wife would have a hell of a time trying to get her DIC.

I found an article from the st Louis post dispatch showing two temp clerks were prosecuted for destroying paper records and entering wrong dates on disc in 2012 they were being paid bonus for how fast they could transfer data. I figured that's what happened to my paper records, when a yr ago my dav so told me my paper records had been destroyed and wrong dates entered on disc for my ratings. Then the so told me last week my records were being scanned on disc, I don't get it. You would think copies of ratings champva card commissary card would be enough to correct records.

I said wait, I thought my paper records were destroyed over a year ago what is being scanned? Anyway he told me my 70% rating was correct witch was 1993 effective date. But my IU rating was 2007 instead of 1995 which it should be. He also said it showed me being paid at the 100% rate from 1998 instead of 1995.
