  1. Thanks Basser! I'll put this on my to-do-list. When I filed my NOD, I also requested a DRO review. By the time of this DRO, I can have the IMO done and can present this info.
  2. I'm an Operation Desert Shield/Storm Veteran. This is my first post in this forum and I appreciate any help with my Denied claim that follows. On July 20, 2012 I recieved a Denial Letter regarding my claim for Sinusitis with Asthma (claimed as secondary to Sinusitis). A few things I want to point for starters that I began seeing a VA Allergy doctor in May 2011 with me starting the weekly Allergy Shots in late Sept 2011 - Present. The Waco VARO stated that it only had "Medical evidence from the North Texas Veterans Healthcare System for the period 8-19-10 to 4-27-11". I was using DAV as my VSO and I checked in with my VSO to ensure that they had everything and if I needed to get any additional info that I would (he told me that he had 'thoroughly' perused my file and it had everything). I have a new VSO switching over to Texas Veterans Commission who assisted me with filing a NOD for this claim. Am I just grasping for straws here??? Thanks in advance for your kind assistance. Medical Description: Sinusitis (claimed as due to environmental hazard in the Gulf War) Denial Reason: We did not find a link between Sinusitis (claimed as due to environmental hazard in the Gulf War) and military service. Explanation: The VA medical opinion (Dallas VAMC) found no link between your diagnosed medical condition and military service. VA examination results from the North Texas Veterans Healthcare System addendum dated 05-31-11 the examiner opined that your Sinusitis conditions is less likely than not related to your exposure to environmental hazards in the Gulf War or to the treatment you recieved during the service. The treatment you received during service do not meet the standard of a chronic sinus or nasal condition and there is every indication that your Allergic Rhinitis had developed subsequent to separation from service. Your signs and symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis and/or Sinusitis possibly caused by military service during the Gulf War would not be supported by current medical literature. Medical Description: Asthma (claimed as secondary to Sinusitis) associated with Sinusitis (claimed as due to environmental hazard in the Gulf War) Denial Reason: We did not find a link between Asthma (claimed as secondary to Sinusitis) associated with Sinusitis (claimed as due to environmental hazard in the Gulf War) and military service. The evidence does not show that your condition resulted from, or was aggravated by, Sinusitis. Explanation: The medical opinion (Dallas VAMC) found no link between your diagnosed medical condition and military service. VA examination results from the North Texas Veterans Healthcare System dated 5-31-11 the examiner opined that your Asthma caused by or secondary to Sinusitis would not be supported by medical literature.
