  1. The final word (for now) is that the memo was authentic, but the information was bogus. https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/04/19/army-unit-retracts-memo-touting-va-benefits-for-soldiers-due-to-bad-anthrax-vaccines/
  2. Yes, I don't understand why the memo addresses only those two installations. The unit that originated the memo is a Patriot missile battalion that was in Kuwait during the early years mentioned in the memo. You would think they may have had the Kuwait bad batch (as I did in 2004). I suspect we'll eventually see something akin to what they did with Agent Orange, but as I'm sure you well know, when you owe the military they'll take it from you quickly and without notice, but when the military owes you don't hold your breath waiting.
  3. I'm actually 100% now, and never updated my info here. My interest in the anthrax vaccine is more about trying to understand how my physical and mental health deteriorated so rapidly over the course of a year. The date of my "bad batch" dose corresponds directly to the start of my decline. I'm not much interested in going back into the traditional workforce, but now that I've managed to get my head screwed back on fairly straight am putting together a work from home plan.
  4. Thank you, Berta! I dug out the copies I made of my medical records just in case something is actually happening with this. I was able to find a MEDPROS printout with manufacturers and lot numbers of the anthrax vaccinations I received (some marked unknown, but a Kuwait lot number matched one of the bad batches).
  5. UPDATE: While the memo was authentic, the information was bogus. https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/04/19/army-unit-retracts-memo-touting-va-benefits-for-soldiers-due-to-bad-anthrax-vaccines/ There are a couple of new documents circulating on social media that seem to indicate the VA is going to start awarding disability ratings for symptoms attributed to bad batches of the anthrax vaccine. When I saw the first memo, I was highly skeptical, but on seeing the second document my skepticism decreased. Is anyone hearing anything about this? Other than the attached documents, I'm unable to find anything supporting or debunking this.
  6. I applied for and received approval for VA medical, but since Fort Lewis is closer to me than American Lake VA Hospital, I pay for Tricare and get treatment at Fort Lewis. The VA Hospital is only 15 to 20 minutes further, but I've never bothered to check it out. Because of my total rating and being OIF/OEF, I'm first priority at VA. Because I'm a retiree, I'm lowest priority at Fort Lewis. I've been wondering if I would get better care at the VA hospital. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
