  1. Thanks Kelly. I've been sober 2 years now after rehab. No more pills either. I manage with meditation but even that doesn't reverse what happens to the brain so I don't know. My claim was advanced only to be remanded to AMC. I guess I'll contact Philadelphia local news. It's a sad fact that the public likes a veterans horror story. Gives em something to talk about I guess.

  2. Thank you both. I first filed PTSD claim in 05. Denied and appealed twice. Had a BVA video hearing DEC 12. VA shrink(not c&p exam) diagnosed me with PTSD back in 07, private shrink diagnosed me last year in 2012 connecting it to military service while deployed. Claim was remanded to AMC on AUG 15 2013 as I wait for a c&p exam in Philly. Wtf is AMC and now what do I do because Disabled American Vets in Philly sucks. Already had my claim advanced do to financial hardship/homeless. Should I try to sell my mess of a story to local news? Multiple suicide attempts, drugs/alcohol, rehab, violent outbursts, disrupted family gatherings, no social life, periods of paranoid delusions where I can't be near other human beings....any advice?

  3. Diagnosed by civilian Dr. with PTSD. Was deployed twice. Once in Egpyt, other was in Kuwait during 96 Khobar Towers bombing, assisted an EOD blow too close to blast radius(no injuries or death) doused with diesel during re-fueling accident, and lived in GP medium around 24/7 explosions from Udari Range (was a 55B ammo spec) No records of anything as I tried to cover up my fear out there. How can I prove one of these stressors?

  4. Thank you both. No access to scanner but that letter did get my claim advanced on the docket. An appeals coach at Philly VA called me the next day...BVA remanded my claim again because I need a C&P exam. I don't know how long that will be because they sent my claim to Appeals Management Center. I figured maybe give them some time to schedule me this c&p exam... At this point I just pray and wait longer...how much time I should wait before I make another move I don't know..

  5. Hello, I'll introduce myself with an email I wrote to the VA on AUG 15

My name is Michael Noce and I am an Army veteran of 2 deployments diagnosed with PTSD due to military service. My claim was originally filed in 2005. It was denied and appealed in 2007 and 2009. I also had a travel board hearing. A compensation and pension exam was scheduled but could not be kept due to Hurricane Sandy and transportation issues in 2012. I was given the oppurtunity for a 2nd hearing because the original travel board judge retired. A video hearing was conducted in December 2012 with BVA Judge Susan J. Janec in Philadelphia. I was told a new compensation & pension exam would be scheduled. 7 months later in July 2013, I had an eviction letter forwarded to BVA for a motion to advance my claim due to financial hardship. Almost 2 months later I still haven't received a response other than my claim is still being reviewed, and that is why I'm writing this email to you, Mr. Eric K. Shinseki, NJ Congressman Rob Andrews, and if needed Philadelphia Channel 6 Action News.

Like countless others, a chance at having a normal life was sacrificed when I joined the Army. The experience has left me displaced and homeless with a 6 year old boy that I can barely provide for. My family has suffered because of this PTSD. Bouts of suicidal depression, violent outbursts, alcohol and drug abuse, hospitalizations, 2 DUI charges, rehab, excessive absence from work to include LWOP and AWOL, suspensions from work, disrupted family gatherings, no social life, paranoid delusions leaving me unable to leave the bed or house for weeks at a time, and my own mother having to resuscitate me from a drug and alcohol overdose as I tried to ease the pain of my condition.

I am asking for my claim of 8 years to please be advanced and expedited so I can have a place to live and provide for my 6 year old son in a country that I proudly and honorably served. Thank you.
