  1. Thanks all, I guess the VA is ok with PO boxes (some businesses won't deliver to them). Notorious Kelly I've been thinking about Earth Class Mail. From reviews it sounds the best of the virtual mail scanning services. I might do that, I have a dependency claim that I've been waiting on for ages and I don't want to miss the VA's letter because they give you a 30 day deadline to respond. If you don't and there are errors you are out of luck (or at least hard to fix).
  2. I am retired and planning to travel with an RV for an extended period. I plan on having my mail go to a PO Box address. Does the VA accept PO Boxes as valid address? I cannot imagine why they wouldn't but want to make sure and was wondering if anyone here has done the same. Thanks!
  3. Thanks Berta, I appreciate all the helpful information you put out here!
  4. I am looking to get some counsel from an attorney that knows the ropes within the VA system. Is it important that an attorney for this be located in the state that you reside in? The VA is of course Federal so maybe being local is not that important unless you want to meet in person. I live in Nevada and there seem to be very few that are accredited by the VA around Reno. Also anyone know any attorneys to recommend that are knowlegeable about the VA (possibly one that previously worked at a VA Regional Office)? Some attorneys do work for Veterans but sometimes more as a sideline and I want someone that specializes in Veterans issues. I have seen some Excel lists of VA accredited attorneys but picking one is like opening the phone book closing your eyes and hoping for the best which I'd rather not do. Thanks
  5. Hi, I am service connected for some digestion problems and recently had a test done by a private Gastroenterologist which showed I am also lactose intolerant. I would like to have this added to my VA medical record. How do I do this? Should I send it to the VARO or to the VA Medical Center where I am being seen? Thank you
  6. Stretch and John999 thanks for the information and Berta I have been listening to some of the topics on the SVR Radio and Blog Talk that is really great! Eventually I may relocate to the Phillipines for a short time of about a year so that is why I was asking about being seen at the Manila VA clinic. Apparently they are not under the FMP program so I think that as long as you are a Vet living in the Philipines that you would be eligible to be seen by them (but only for service connected conditions). I have to do some more checking but I think that is right. Thanks!
  7. Thanks Charles I will have to check out the Blue Button. I had some tests done that I would like to have added to my record. Not sure how I go about doing that? Also I was wondering about the Manila VA clinic. I have a few questions maybe you know. If you are service connected and live in the Phillipines are you eligible to be seen there? Do you have to be in the foreign medical program?
  8. Hello all, Is there any requirement that you be seen by your PCM at the VA Medical Center once a year? I remember talking to a Vet at a bus stop once and he was living overseas but came back apparently just to check in with his PCM. So I'm wondering are there any requirements about that? Thank you
