  1. Good day my fellow brothers and sisters, I will keep this short as possible. I was in the process of doing the paperwork to do inpatient therapy for my PTSD recommended by my therapist and was going to put in for an increase. My wife is active duty and currently on recruiting, she was trying to stay on this duty and put in a package her monitor shortly after that gave her orders to Okinawa, so of course when her package got to him he denied it, recruiting approved it so its up on someone's desk collecting dust, its taking forever and she can't get any straight answers from anyone about where exactly her package is and the decision, during the waiting time she has been frustrated with the job and said xxxx it and is going to execute orders. That leaves me not enough time to even do a FDC, for an increase, I also don't know if they have therapist out there and if the VA decides they want to reevaluate my PTSD how will I get the mail. If anyone has any information on this or can point me into the right direction I would gladly appreciate it. Thank you.

  2. Wow! This is a great thread... everything hits home for me, and hope that I am not hijacking the OP on this...I am currently 70% SC PTSD 10%(Degenerative disc disease and scoliosis, thoracic and lumbar spine) haven't worked since 2008...attempted school struggled and tried to do strictly on line and that didn't work for me...could not focus and went down hill from there. Tried to apply for Voc Rehab... and my anxiety and panic attacks were so bad I had to reschedule my appointment and by the time my next appointment I was at my worse... They basically sent me a letter saying the disallowed my claim because didn't attend my rescheduled orientation. I'm currently work with my doc to do inpatient treatment. Don't know if I should file an increase or TDIU The wait will be about a month to see if I'm approved so I might as well do one or the other. Just don't know which. Peace

  3. I was just discharged for Prolonged Exposure therapy, didn't work for me and I tried extremely hard. My therapist has suggested that I get into resident therapy and we will be filling out the application, which could be a month wait. The program is 90 days... I was hoping to get some advice on what I should do as far as either filing for a IU, an increase, or wait until I get out of the inpatient treatment. I am currently SC 70% for PTSD... thanks for any and all advice.

  4. NavyWife when you say seek out a vocational rehab counselor on your own, could you eliberate? My application was closed for a year because my anxiety was so bad that I couldn't even make it to intial appointment...I kindly called and rescheduled, I tried to go to the next one and broke down. It was too much, they sent me a letter stating I had to wait another year to come again.

  5. Mont36 thanks for the info, yes my last employment was the Marine Corps and was discharged for misconduct, they made me do a pysch eval and the doc said it was more than likely that my untreated PTSD was the cause of my misconduct. None the less I was discharged for misconduct and seperated quickly. I still got General Under Honorable but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

  6. I haven't worked since by discharge from the millitary! Late 2008 I was attending college but it got overwhelming and couldn't continue, I have been focusing on my mental health and have been seeing a therapist weekly, and now in Prolonged exposure theraphy. My question is, does my lack of employment hinder me if I file for IU. I am 70% service connected since 2012. Thanks for any feedback.
