  1. I could really use some help guys. I recently was given my ratings as I near the end of my MED Board. There was a lot of rating me at the lowest possible % for everything and a lot more of saying that smaller injuries were not service connected. I am going to appeal all of that and am not overly worried about the outcome but if you have any advice I am more than happy to elaborate and take advice. Its pretty much little stuff like ache joints, sciatica, IBS, stuff like that. The MAJOR issue I have is this. Years ago now I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pulmonary Sarcoidosis. Fast forward to today and I have been treated with High and mod dose Prednisone (a Cortisosteroid), Methotrexate, and currently am being treated with Humira. Prednisone has some serious side effects on my body and I had to come off while the Methotrexate didnt imporve symptoms and was destroying my liver. Sarcoid is the primary reason that I am being Med Boarded and cannot continue to serve yet they rated me at 0% for it. The reasoning is that under the Ratings schedule for Sarcoid the only quantifying metric for rating is the use of Corticosteroids and Pulmonary involvement. So since Corticosteroids didnt work for me and I have to move on to Immunosuppressives and while on medication my Pulmonary Function Tests come back close to normal I apparently do not rate any kind of compensation? This confuses the heck out of me and I could really use some advice on how to address this. I spoke to my Promary Care Doc and he looked at me like I was a shady Mo Fo trying to scrounge more money by cheesing the system. Also if anyone here is familiar with Pulmonary Function Tests I could use some help with that as well. My PFTs come back decently close to normal while I am on a functional level of meds but I am still short of breath on exertion. I know I am not in the best of shape any more these days but this is way more than just that. I cant prove it however since my PFTs come back relatively normal. Is there anything I can do to prove the effects that my lungs are legitimately having on me?
