  1. Age shouldn't be a factor in if I get it or not. It clearly srates that it does not matter. I'm actually 35, I know that's stI'll young but it's not like I'm in my 20s. I've applied to voc rehab and am awaiting them to send me the paperwork and go to the briefing so I can go back to school and possibly find a job. The problem I'm having is I can't be around people. I seldom go out and do anything in my own free time because of the ptsd so being at work is work. My therapist recommend I file for this and gave me my file to submit as proof not to mention I've been diagnosed with bi polar and med have gone up as well as put on 2 more medications and been seen at behavioral health a few times and some domestic issues with the wife since I was diagnosed back in 2014. If they deny my iu claim I guess that's whatever. I was just curious if I should expect a good outcome or not count on it.
  2. I didn't put down any income. The forms I had to have my past employers fill out put it down. I doubt I made more than 15k this whole year. I've been trying to find full time work since I've been out and have only managed to find bs part time Jobs that pay the bare minimum. I quit the first job I had because at the time I was going to school to become a firefighter and that job was interfering with me attending a firefighting Academy so I resigned after I completed the fire academy I did an internship with the fire department and at the end of The Internship I was offered to apply to become a full-time firefighter in which I made it all the way to the background investigation and the mental portion and I failed the mental portion that put me in a pretty big depression to where my wife insisted that I go talk to somebody at that time it was found out that I had PTSD I kept applying for other fire departments but kept failing the mental portion of the exam. I then got a job at Best Buy and had that job for about 6 months until I was told by my boss I need to either quit or be fired because my performance was poor I was always getting in arguments with customers and they just couldn't keep me around. I got another job 5 months later working for a Park District for about a year-and-a-half and was fired for basically the same thing that Best Buy was going to fire me for because Id always get into arguments with Park patrons. During the time I was working with the park I found another part-time job that was only seasonal working for the city I live in working with Department of Public Works fixing roads they paid me pretty good money it was 30 hours a week at twenty bucks an hour and I was hoping that the job would continue but they laid me off so all-in-all I really don't think I made that much money. I do know that another guy that used to work at the park district was let go earlier this year and he is also diagnosed with 70% PTSD and when he was fired he filed for IU and was awarded IU. It's not like I don't want to work I've been trying really hard to find work it's just when I received the job I don't really last very long and I'm trying to find something that I can actually adapt two and find some way of making the job work but every job I've been able to get I basically screwed myself out of. The best job I could have gotten was the park job because I was basically on my own just doing my thing mowing grass kind of in like a Zen state and that didn't work out too well.
  3. Thanks for the advice. I did my c&p for the increase. The examiner said he could not raise it due to not meeting the 100 percent criteria for ptsd. All I've submitted for the IU was proof of employment. I just applied to voc rehab about 5 months ago to go back to school to help me find work. I haven't heard anything back from them yet.
  4. So, new here. I've been wondering if I qualify for IU. Back story: was diagnosed with 70 for ptsd at the end of 2014. Since then I've quit 2 jobs, fired from one and just laid off from one at the beginning of this month. My therapist recommended I file for an increase in disability and file for IU. I have since already had my c&p exam where the guy acknowledged my ptsd was getting worse but could not increase it to 100% and said the 70% is more than justified I also just submitted paper work to the VA to verify my employment history. My question is, how likely is it that I will receive the IU?
