  1. Can you get service connection for injuries caused by one of these episodes, for example a car wreck?
  2. -Can anyone tell me how long appeals have been taking at the DRO lately? -Is there any difference for returning Iraq veterans or is it the same regardless?
  3. I should've told them my mom's maiden name was Bush......guarantee my claim would've been approved then. I just told them via IRIS that my buddy at the news(true) wants me to go public with it and guess what? I got a response in hours telling me that they were sending me a letter because of the "sensitive nature of the material." So sensitive they couldn't email me it! I still got four inquiries before that one that I sent them for my claims that I never even got a response to. How about that? I'm still debating on whether to do that though.
  4. The first question my VA C&P examiner asked me was "do you know anybody important in the military or the VA?" is this their policy or did I just have a screwed up examiner who only gives a crap about her career? Because that has nothing to do with my health or condition.

  6. which of these would be more easily accepted by the VA as a stressor? -watching an IED go off that left my best friend's face lacerated right in front off me -or- -being in a city engaged in full blown combat where there were dead bodies lying out on the street everywhere where I watched a dog eat someone's throat out while ducking sniper fire because the latter has screwed with my head more than the first Willy
  7. Hey, forgot to mention my 30% is just for physical problems, my PTSD claim was outright denied for service connection for lack of stressors and lack of diagnosis......thanks, Willy
  8. hey anyone that can answer these questions or provide me help, please do.... I am a former marine(presently30%) who while serving in the Sunni province in Iraq, took part in numerous IED attacks, small arms attacks, mortar attacks, as well as participating in the battle of Fallujah. I have a Combat Action Ribbon as well as a Navy Commendation Medal for my actions in combat as well as the documentation for all of the above in my service records. I have been diagnosed as having PTSD by one private psychiatrist, (two months after leaving the service), as well as one VA psychiatrist. But I have had two VA psychologists rule out PTSD (one being the C&P examiner), as well as a VA psychology intern. I am and have been in treatment since the C&P exam and have been on numerous medications for PTSD symptoms since then. This treatment is with both the VA psychiatrist who has diagnosed me with PTSD as well as one of the psychologists who have ruled it out (so far she is saying I do not have all of the symptoms), when my C&P exam was done they did not take into consideration any of my awards as well as the private psychiatrist's diagnosis of PTSD and I was not yet in treatment for mental problems with the VA yet and my claim was denied. These are my questions.... 1) Does the psychologists' and the intern's diagnosis cancel out the psychiatrists' diagnosis or is it the other way around? 2) Is staying with this psychologist(she has ruled it out so far) hurting my claim? 3) Do I need more evidence, such as two more diagnosis', to outweigh the three rule outs? I really could use all the help I get because I am lost right now and struggling financially, and I have a baby on the way and my current living conditions are not suitable for a child(no running water or gas)......Willy3521
  9. yeah my car is on my dd214. right now im just appealing their decision that my ptsd is not service connected and it's at the dro. anybody in that city during that battle seen enough dead bodies to last a lifetime. i just feel like they're just reaching farther and farther to wash their hands of me. everything about that city was a stressor at that time. there was bodies laying on every street for weeks at end before thay sent out a mortuary affairs team. and a good number of them were kids that didnt want to leave their father's side. all the dogs that had gotten loose were eating them, so we had to start puttin down the dogs too. there were so many carcasses that the insurgents started booby trapping them with ied's. nothing like ducking sniper fire while you watch a dog eat out someone's throat. and all this doesn't even include the times i had to waste some. tell me what part of that doesn't sound like it'd screw with you?
  10. THE VA STATED THAT NONE OF THESE EXPERIENCES QUALIFIED AS A STRESSOR. BEING BLOWN UP OR WATCHING YOUR BUDDIES GET BLOWN UP ISN'T CONSIDERED COMBAT SINCE THEY HAPPENED ON PATROL NOT IN COMBAT( THIS WAS THEIR WORDS REGARDING THE IED AMBUSHES). AT MY C&P EXAM, THE NURSE PRACTIONER CONDUCTING THE INTERVIEW'S FIRST QUESTION TO ME WAS WHO IMPORTANT I KNEW IN THE MILITARY OR THE VA SYSTEM THIS WAS SIMPLY AN OUTRAGE TO ME AS I'M SURE SHE HAD ALREADY MADE HER DECISION WHEN I TOLD HER THAT I DID NOT KNOW ANY VIP'S. THIS WAS THE FIRST QUESTION THAT SHE ASKED ME. IS THERE ANYBODY THAT CAN TELL ME WHAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH MY PERSONAL HEALTH? NOWHERE IN MY LETTER FROM THE VA DID IT EVEN STATE MY PARTICIPATION IN THE BATTLE OF FALLUJAH, OR THE DIAGNOSIS THAT I HAD ALREADY RECEIVED FROM A PRIVATE PSYCHIATRIST EVEN THOUGH I WENT INTO GREAT DETAIL ABOUT IT WITH HER. LIKE I SAID I BELEIVE HER MIND WAS MADE UP WHEN SHE FOUND OUT I HAD NO TIES TO PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY MATTER TO THEM(VIP'S). THIS HAS ALL BEEN DONE OUT OF THE PITTSBURGH VARO AND IT HAS REALLY HURT THAT THEIR IS SUCH PREFFERENTIAL TREATMENT IN A SYSTEM THAT IS IN PLACE TO HELP THE AVERAGE VETERAN, NOT JUST THOSE WITH TIES TO POLITICIANS. I AM ONLY TRYING TO GET THEM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I SUFFER DUE TO THESE EVENTS. AS OF THIS TIME THEY HAVE JUST TRIED TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF ME.
