CHAMPVA eligibility( and also DEA -Chapter 35 educational benefits for dependents)- rests on a medical finding from VA of 100% with a Total and Permanent rating.

Your award letter will state a grant the DEA if your SC disability is 100% P & T.

CHAMPVA would have to be applied for separately. The app is at the main CHAMPVA web site .

I just got awarded 100% disability from the VA, and was inquiring about Champva for my kids, but i am getting discouraged after all the hoarer stories you read in the net, 

any help would be greatly appreciated.
