  1. I am rated at 60% SC for a DVT in my right leg (40%) and Raynaud's Syndrome (40%). I have applied for an increase along with adding arthritis my left knee, due to an uneven gait and was denied, and the arthritis is not SC. I have appealed this finding but have been told that an increase in the DVT and Raynaud's is almost impossible. I have applied for my back as being secondary to my DVT because of an uneven gait. My right leg is larger than my left, and has been since my DVT in 1989, this has caused my pelvis to be tilted to the left. I believe this has led to the scoliosis that I now have and sciatica. I went to a C&P exam and the examiner noted all of my problems, and even says that I am Unemployable, but he says that my back is less than likely due to my leg. I have not received my rating from this yet, but I am wondering how I can convince my PCP that my right leg and possible Post-thrombotic syndrome has caused my back problems. I am not sure if anyone can give me advice but I would appreciate any advice.
  2. Thank you for the info. My husband has a C&P in April for hypertension. He is on Losartan, which was just increased and is still running in the 150'2 over 70's. I never thought of the stroke aspect for the Hypertension rating. I am trying to get all of my husband's illnesses documented and rated as SC, as they are. It is a nightmare.
  3. Thank you. I am going to fill out the appeal form now. Because it is now considered Presumptive, I don't think there will be a problem with the appeal and do not think we need a hearing.
  4. What is the best way to appeal? For his A & A we did a Supplemental Claim, because his pulmonary stated the need was due to his heart condition. Should we do Supplemental for the hypertension because of the PACT Act? His VSO said not to worry about anymore claims. I disagree.
  5. My husband is a Ret. Marine who served in Vietnam, as well as Camp Lejeune; he has a myriad of health issues resulting from his time in Service. He has been rated 100% for ischemic heart, and has diabetes, neuropathy, and ED, and receives some SMC. We have applied for Aid & Attendance and had to appeal, because the original doctor said he needed it for his lungs (which the VA says are NOT presumptive for AO) but his pulmonary says it is from his heart. We applied for disability ratings for his lungs, and hypertension last summer but were denied. Now the VA has determined that hypertension is presumptive to Agent Orange. Should we appeal the denial for the hypertension, it won't raise his rating anymore, but can it help with the Aid & Attendance?
