  1. I submitted a nod for neuropathy in May of 08, still waiting for dro to review.
  2. Does anyone know how long it takes for a nod at the Chicago VA?
  3. Does anyone know how long it takes for a nod to be processed at the chicago va?
  4. First, I want to thank you for your opinions. I was in Army for 8 yrs before I went into the reserves. Accident happened on week end when we were going for training. I was passenger and Jeep going at high speed flipped on side and skid 100 ft or so. I was a passenger and ended up with others on top of me. Taken to hospital and all they did was x-rays on my right side where I had the contusions and road burns. My fatigue jacket and clothes were shredded. They sent me home and told me to see my doctor if I had problems. Nothing was put in my smr. I went to doctor following Monday cause of pain on my side and back. He gave me burn cream and pain killers and muscle relaxers. After a couple weeks it seemed better, but have had problems since with my upper and lower back. All the docs I saw gave me pain killers and muscle relaxers. In the late 80's I got to point all of a sudden I couldn't walk or move without lower pain and sciatica. Off work that time for 6 weeks. (cannot get any of these records since docs don't keep them past 7 yrs) I was able to get some records from 90's which show complaints of thoracic pain and tenderness. The docs continued to treat me with meds until I could not stand the pain in upper back and they finally sent me for mri and to a neuro doc. I tried to tell him about my history with the back problems but he didn't want to listed. Just wanted to do surgery. Ended up losing my job cause I was too slow at work because of back pain. At the time went to va for second opinion of surgery, saw a neuro guy and he did not care about my back problem history either. Last summer my primary at va had more mri done and told me she could set me up with ortho guy, but I am leary about surgery. ( I had a 4 way by-pass done about 2 yrs ago) I have an appt with my rep next week. Any suggestions or opinions are appreciated.
  5. I have had an mri done on cervical and thoracic areas because I complained to primary va dr., but I previously had mri's done outside. Currently on ssd. I have disc problems, degenerative disc disease throughout, stenoses, arthritis, spondylotic changes, kyphosis, etc. etc. Have had problems which continued to get worse, previous docs just kept giving me different pain killers and muscle relaxers. Was going to schedule surgery, but ended up having open heart surgery. Currently connected for DM and heart. Recently started getting pain and burning in feet that wakes me up.
  6. I was in a jeep accident in 1979 and have had back problems since. Since I was in reserves nothing was put into my smr, I have copy of accident report and hospital report. All of my medical records thru 1990 were destroyed. My whole back is totally messed up. Do you think I have any chance of successful claim.
