I understand from some limited reading of the CFR that ratings should not exceed the total rating for the loss of eyesight in one eye but I am curious about other people and thier rating experience.
I suffered a blunt trauma to one eye that resulted in:
- Higher than normal pressures (on meds for life)
- A rip in the lens capsule that was repaired with a retaining ring
- A cataract that was replaced with a new lens, newly forming cataract diagnosed during C&P exam.
- a retinal scotoma that caused permanent loss of central vision acuity.
- a torn iris which resulted in loss of pupil dilation/muscle control and left it almost fully open (extreme sunlight sensitivity)
- my central vision is basically zero but I make out the "big letter E" on the eye chart because of peripheral vision.
The vision in my good eye is 20/200 uncorrected and 20/20 corrected.
