Purple- thanks - the cancer was in 2002 and they cut it out and so far it seems as if they got all of it. I'm rated on the residuals and they are as Bronco says "invisible disabilities" to all but me and my loved ones and I understand what Bronco is saying. It seems that a disability quite often means little to most people except the one disabled. "Most" isn't meant to apply to others on this post. A good day to all.

Purple, I too had a good experience with my local RO. Orginal claim took less than 5 mos. and I immediately filed for and was granted TDIU P&T within 3 mos. But, I am a Vietnam vet with an agent orange presumed cancer, therefore, it was probably a no-brainer and they would have had a really hard time screwing it up. And they didn't, so I feel lucky. My RO is Des Miones and I have yet to read anything on Hadit good or bad about this RO.

Thanks all for the quick responses. TS- I'm in the process of filing a reconsideration under fast letter 08-41 for an EED. But, I'm prior to their date and I have no date stamped copy or etc. It was my first claim and I had no assistance nor did I know anything about the claim process. All I have is my statement so it's probably looking not so good.

hi all, been reading this site for a couple of weeks now and I'm impressed by the information available at hadit so I sign on today and have a question. what va regulation deals with the use of a veteran's own statement in support a claim?
