  1. Yes I used Insurance to pay a major Portion of the medical bills, but I am dealing with Neurological issues, and I have had to have a number of expensive procedures done. Like Spinal Tap for spinal fluid, Surgery for a Nerve and Muscle Biopsy, etc... And the treatment they put me on is IVIG which is about $8,000 per treatment, I started out having two treatment per week for three weeks, then once a week for 4 weeks, and now once a month for 6 months. Even just paying my co=pay has put me well over 5k since I filed my claim. I was in Desert Storm and every since then I have been steadily losing my strength in my futhest extremities.. I can't do toe raises or walk on my heals among other things, my biopsies show major deteriation of my muscles and nerves, basically my anti-bodies are attacking my nerves and muscles. My private Neurolgist said the closest diagnosis she could come up with is CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Dyleminating Poly-neurathapy) but that isnt what it is. The don't know exactly what it is. Hopefully the VA doctors have seen something like it annd can get it under control.. (crosses-fingers). here is that link: http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/Librar...imbursement.pdf
  2. Hmm, hopefully I get it right this time.. http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/Librar...imbursement.pdf
  3. Hi, I am wondering if anyone has had any dealing with Fact Sheet 16-7 (Reimbursement Of Non-VA Medical Expenses For Service-Connected Veterans) PDF I filed my Claim a year ago and in the meantime my condition was getting worse so I sought private medical help while the VA sat on my claim. I just recieved my award a month ago, and while they did back pay me the monthly compensation back to the date I filed. I called the Fee Basis office for my area and asked them about Retroactive Award example on this fact sheet.. They seemed like this was the first they have ever seen this sheet, after being transferred to a supervisor they still seemed blind-sided after talking in circles for about 20 minutes he finally told me I could submit re-imbursement for my private medical care back to the date I filed, but he said it would come to his office and they would almost surely deny it because I wasnt referred by the VA. I am wondering if I should check with a different office on this or not. This pdf isnt worded in a way to say you need a referral. Thanks Ed
