Yes I used Insurance to pay a major Portion of the medical bills, but I am dealing with Neurological issues, and I have had to have a number of expensive procedures done. Like Spinal Tap for spinal fluid, Surgery for a Nerve and Muscle Biopsy, etc... And the treatment they put me on is IVIG which is about $8,000 per treatment, I started out having two treatment per week for three weeks, then once a week for 4 weeks, and now once a month for 6 months. Even just paying my co=pay has put me well over 5k since I filed my claim. I was in Desert Storm and every since then I have been steadily losing my strength in my futhest extremities.. I can't do toe raises or walk on my heals among other things, my biopsies show major deteriation of my muscles and nerves, basically my anti-bodies are attacking my nerves and muscles. My private Neurolgist said the closest diagnosis she could come up with is CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Dyleminating Poly-neurathapy) but that isnt what it is. The don't know exactly what it is. Hopefully the VA doctors have seen something like it annd can get it under control.. (crosses-fingers).
